Can twitter make you money online? Yes, it can!

Once you have built up a loyal twitter following, you CAN promote products, either your own via your web site or blog, or through affiliate links.  The trick is to make sure that the products you want to promote and offer are related to your twitter content and that your followers can really benefit from the product.

The people who read your tweets should feel that you are more interested in their best interest, as opposed to your own, as you send them to consider the product you are recommending.  Your twitter reputation is on the line with every offer your recommend, and if they seem consistently self-serving, you may see your twitter following, or at least your click through rates, drop off significantly.

On the other hand, if your products are continuously perceived as valuable to your followers, your traffic and hopefully your profits, will continue to build.

Logosnap.com is a free service (that will accept donations) for creating basic logos.  It’s a pretty neat service.

Your Twitter Name

When you decide on your twitter name, you need to decide in advance what you want your “twitter brand” to represent.  Will your “tweet” be related to what you are doing at the moment, or will they be about your web site or company?

It’s an important distinction to make when using twitter.  You are essentially deciding if your twitter account is going to be for personal broadcasts or business marketing purposes.

Remember, you can always sign up for more than one twitter account! (you’ll just need separate email addresses to do so)

MyEmailReminders.com

This is a neat free service for those of you who are like me and occassionally need one-off and recurring reminders.

You can set this online application to send you an email and a text message as a reminder. 

You can have reminders go to additional emails and phone numbers too, but phones have to be registered first which eliminates cell phone spamming.

Anymeeting.com

Anymeeting.com is a free webinar service, similar to Webex, Gotomeeting.com and many others.  Until recently Anymeeting.com was called Freebinar.com

This web based program has many features found in programs that charge a monthly access fee, such as:

• Screen sharing (toogle between 2 monitors or share specific applications)
• Online chat
• Broadcast your web cam
• VOIP and conference call audio options
• Record meetings
• Surveys
• Schedule meetings in advance

Anymeeting.com is easy to use.  While the presenter has to download software prior to presenting, viewers can participate in a webinar through their web browser.

The software is sponsored by advertisers who appear in the browser of viewers (not the presenter.)

I have been using this software for many months and I find that it works rather well and hey, it’s free.  Why is it free you might ask?  Well, anyone viewing your webinars will have to allow ads to run on the left side of their screen. 

So you might want to consider who your audience is before using anymeeting.com.  If you are presenting to friends, family or a club group, where they won’t care that you haven’t made an investment in this neat web service, then anymeeting.com is probably a perfect solution for you.  If you are presenting to a prospective client, or group of clients, you might want to consider a paid application so you don’t appear cheap or fake (do you think people who use free hotmail.com accounts for their business email are serious about what they do?  I don’t!)

Eliminate SPAM Once and for All!

I have a free email service that I log into once in a while that is not protected from SPAM, and it is amazing at how many people in Nigeria want to wire me millions of dollars!  What’s up with that?

SPAMARREST is a cool service that adds a layer of protection to your inbox by making the sender confirm the email that they sent.  Plus, you can easily reject emails from a sender if you decide in the future that they are no longer your buddy.

The service isn’t FREE, but you can try it FREE for 30 days.

Goldmail Video Email Messages

This is a great communication and marketing tool that I first saw in use last summer for a company that I was working with.  It was the best thing they showed me!

You can get a FREE Goldmail account, and there are great premium features available as well.  You can create a Goldmail from scratch or you can import a Microsoft Powerpoint presentation and work with that.

Zoho.com

Zoho.com is one of my favorite web based applications, in that I use it all of the time.  I found it looking for a free screen-sharing tool, and found a very good CRM, spreadsheet program, and word processor.

I have been using the Zoho.com CRM (Customer Relationship Management) for mare than 2 years now.  It is FREE for up to 3 users and functions pretty much as well as the expensive CRMs on the market, such as Salesforece.com.  The CRM offers a plug-in to connect it with Microsoft Outlook, and it also features an email solution where you can send AND RECEIVE client emails right into the CRM. 

There are lots of other free business tools built into zoho.com, such as an employment candidate tracker, a solution for online quizes and tests, an online calendar, free web-based email, and many other free tools.  Once you have a free zoho.com account, you have the ability to access almost all of these tools immediately.  It is definitely worth checking out!
